In the Unending Storm update, difficulties were reworked, and existing Fabled Wisps and Set Items don't exactly fit into the new system. Before the update, the vendor had the following options to convert lower-level wisps to higher-level ones:

History

The trade of Dawning Echo for Platinum was added in the Nightmare Manifest update.

Ancient Scrap, and therefore the ability to exchange Ancient Artifacts for it, was introduced in the September 10, 2025 update. Previously, lower-tier Ancient Artifacts would sit uselessly in the player's inventory.

Originally, there were every single difficulty, with corresponding exchange options at the Smithing Materials Vendor. In the December 17, 2025 update, all Fabled Wisps below Inferno VII were converted into an item that is just called "Fable Wisp", while those from Inferno VII onwards retained their tiers.
