Yelesna is a town in the Fractured Peaks in Diablo IV. It is found in the Zeleny Lowlands.

Knights Penitent garrisoned at Yelesna

Yelesna is a mining town, with entrances to its north, south, west, and east. A river borders the town's east, over which runs a bridge. It has a town guard (or something similar).[1] Life is hard, what with the dangers outside the town, and the mining itself is dangerous work.[2] Magistrate Oleksii runs the village.[3]

The town practices capital punishment, but hangings were originally rare. After the town became host to a Knights Penitent garrison however, hangings became a weekly occurrence.[4]

History[]

At some point, the Knights Penitent established a garrison in Yelesna. They trained the town guard,[5] and attempted to recruit new members.[6] While many resented the presence of the Knights, the truth was that Yelesna would not be able to survive without the garrison, even if its people were too proud to admit it.[7] Many complained to Magistrate Oleksii, but he brushed their complaints aside.[3]

In 1336, the Knights stockpiled supplies in the town in preparation for a long winter.[8] Later that year, there was a reported demon sighting, which led to the town's mines being closed. Rumors spread throughout the townsfolk, some guessing (correctly) that it was because of a demon, others that it was werewolves. Unable to work, many of the townsfolk drank and gambled in the Hog's Head.[7]

While carrying the soulstone that contained Mephisto, Neyrelle passed through Yelesna. Violence was the result, as neighbors slaughtered each other over trivial slights.[9]

  • Gambling Hall Board: If ye cheat while gambling, you'll be banned a month and short a finger. Twice, either hand, yer choice. Thrice, and you meet the end of a rope!
  • Garrison Supplies: Crates of rations, dried venison, medical supplies, and strong ale—a garrison preparing for a long winter, it seems.
  • Garrison's Board: Knights who serve the light shall forever bathe in the glory of the heavens. Join today!
    • The board can be found south of the town's northern entrance
  • Vampire Corpse: These rotting, stinking corpses of the undead are a grim reminder of the dangers just outside the city.
    • The corpses are found near the town's northern entrance, just next to Denysov.
