Weaken is a Necromancer skill in Diablo II.
Lore[]
This bane allows the Necromancer to sap the strength from his enemy. Enemies are enfeebled to the point that their blows become highly ineffective.
Synergies[]
- Gives synergy to: None
- Receives synergy from: None
Usage[]
This Curse greatly improves the survivability of the caster and his/her minions by reducing the physical damage their foes can deal. Casting this on a group lowers all of their damage output, greatly increasing your team's effective survivability.
Although this spell scales its damage mitigation with levels, it is generally wise to not spend more than one point in it. All but the toughest enemies do not last long enough to deal high damage before going down. Higher level Weaken is still useful for countering heavy physical damage.
Oblivion Knights and Stygian Furies have access to this skill.

Some items grant Weaken skill:

Diablo III[]
Weaken does return in Diablo III, to a certain extent. However, it is renamed to Curse of Weakness, and it is exclusive to the Enslaved Nightmares. Upon suffering this curse, the victim suffers a 25% penalty to all damage dealt.
Decrepify fulfills a similar role in Diablo III.
While there is no designated Crowd Control type associated with dealing less damage in D3, many skills and abilities place a debuff on their target that reduces their damage done (to all foes or to the caster only).
