"Hey! I don't need eyes to hear you passing by me!"
"What are you raving about?"
"You there, yes you! Come now, don't be shy. I need your help, that damned fanatic Theya stole my eyes!"

- Vilek and the Wanderer(src)

Vilek was an inhabitant of Kyovashad.

Biography[]

"What happened to your eyes?"
"Theya stole them. Pinned them on some necklace she wears, but takes it with her everywhere, makes me watch. I wonder if my suffering aids her? Ah yeah, I can see through those eyes just as you can see me now, but what I see is painful. So much pain, so much death, I want my damned eyes back!"

- The Wanderer and Vilek(src)

Sometime in the 1330s, Vilek's eyes were stolen by Theya; a cultist of the Triune. However, he could still see through them. His eyes were worn in a necklace around her neck, and he was forced to watch every foul deed that she committed. He wondered if the suffering aided her in some manner.[1]

In 1336, Vilek was in the stocks of Kyovashad. He heard the Wanderer passing by, and he told them how Theya had stolen his eyes. He begged the Wanderer to retrieve them. The Wanderer noted that Vilek seemed insane, but nevertheless obliged, slaying Theya in Nostrava, and returned with Vilek's eyes in hand. Vilek noted that he could see himself through his own eyes, and slid them back into his sockets. However, when the eyes were slotted back in, Vilek screamed that his sockets were burning. He ran away, screaming.[1]

In-game[]

Vilek is an NPC in Diablo IV. He can be found in the stocks of Kyovashad. Talking to him will initiate the side quest "Sight to Madness." Upon completion of the quest, a burning effect is applied to Vilek, though it is unclear if this is literal, or representing the 'burning' of his eyes. Somehow free of the stocks at this moment, he runs to Kyovashad's northwestern exit before disappearing.
