Verrall, Priest of Wortham, is a non-player character in Diablo III.
Biography[]
Verrall was sent to Wortham by the Zakarum church. He assumed that the village would be simple and untroubled, and in this, he found his hopes rewarded. However, things changed with the coming of the Fallen Star.
Not long after the star's fall, a fisherman retrieved a strange artifact in his nets. It looked like a hilt of an ancient blade, but Verrall knew (correctly) that it had to be more. The fisherman argued with him, but Verrall convinced him to leave it in the Wortham Chapel,[1] and had Virgil guard it.
Unfortunately, the Coven were in pursuit of the sword fragment, and attacked Wortham, setting it ablaze. Salvation arrived with The Nephalem, who asked about the fragment. Verrall told the hero(es) that the fragment was in the chapel, and that he would be glad to be rid of it.[2]
In-game[]
Verrall appears in Act I of Diablo III. He features briefly in "The Doom in Wortham" quest.
