Vendral Trost is an NPC in Diablo IV.
Biography[]
Vendral was the father of Corik. According to Vendral, his son killed another boy his age, and when the authorities found out what he did, he was bound in irons and taken to the Black Asylum, which was abandoned years later, leaving the inmates aside. However, Corik cast doubt on this account, saying that "father lied" and that Vendral had apparently never faced him directly over the circumstances of the incident.[1]
In 1336, Vendral was tormented by the spirit of his son, begging him to visit him in the Asylum. The Wanderer encountered Vendral outside Kyovashad, who gave his account of what had happened to Corik, and begged the Wanderer to end Corik's torment. The Wanderer entered the Black Asylum and laid Corik's spirit to rest, but when they returned to Vendral, told him that Corik loathed him. Vendral stated that he still heard Corik's cries, and alluded to a role he may have played in the murder, referring to a sin of his making, of the blood on his hands, and how he would never be free from the truth. Begging the Heavens to forgive him, he wandered off into the snow, saying that he was going to visit his son.[1]
In-game[]
