The Untameable Wilds Circle is an ancient coven of witches originating from Sharval. One of their members makes an appearance in The Chainbreakers quest in Diablo Immortal.

Lore

The Untameable Wilds Witches are familiar with Familiars. They sign spiritual contracts with them, binding them to mortals.

History

"My forebears put the Voidwound in their cage. Catarag killed most of them in the process. They sank the cage in the sea. Warded it with the light of the moon. Apparently that was not enough."

Long ago, the Nightgrant Circle made a pact with a group of demons, seeking to gain knowledge of the dark. Unfortunately, the demons demanded a hefty price in sacrifice to stay their hands for a single generation. The Untameable Wilds, together with the Waning Sentinel circles opposed the pact but the Nightgrant, empowered by their masters silenced them. After a long battle in which many of them were killed by Catarag, the Untameable Wilds were victorious. Seven witches — Gwerith, Mablia, Leweke, Wledyr, Howel, Ithel, Seysild — sacrificed their lives to power the wards that sealed Catarag.

Using their bodies as baits, the remaining Voidwound were trapped. Before the corruption could poison their bodies, they ventured to an island and using the boughs of moonlit trees and the stone and iron of fallen stars, the Circle fashioned a prison for the Voidwound. With light of the moon, they sealed the them and sank the prison beneath the waves. At the end, the once great Circle was reduced to ten witches.

Since then, they were responsible for the protection and maintenance of the Voidwound's prison.

The Chainbreakers

Sometime around late 1272, the island where the Voidwound's prison was located was attacked by the Cult of Terror. The prison was damaged and the Wardkeeper driven back. Using the opportunity, the Voidwound freed themselves. Fortunately the Wardkeeper, with the help of the Shard-seeker were able to hunt them down

Shardstorms

"Our circle's Prima had visions of all creation ripped apart at the seams. I hope we're still at the "tiny little tears stage. She said Bilefen island is where it got truly terrible."

Later, Shardstorms began surging from the Dreadlands to most of the western continent. The Prima saw a vision of the threat they posed and sent the Surveyor to calm the land.
