Trial of the Hordes is a recurring limited-time competitive PvE event in Diablo Immortal. The player has to complete the quest with the same name to unlock this event.
The event is currently running from April 9, 3 a.m.–April 16, 3 a.m. server time
Gameplay[]
Players don't fight against each other; instead they compete for the best performance in fighting against monsters. The winner is decided by who lasted longest or killed more monsters by the timeout. Players rank up by scoring points and receive rewards at the end of the season based on their ranking.
Rank rewards[]
The rank rewards are received at the end of the season based on the player's final rank.
- Top 1: 120k Gold, 180 Beguiling Dust, 18 Purification Shards, 3 Mystery Legendary Items
- Top 2-10: 100k Gold, 160 Beguiling Dust, 16 Purification Shards, 2 Mystery Legendary Items
- Top 11-100: 80k Gold, 140 Beguiling Dust, 14 Purification Shards, 1 Mystery Legendary Item
- Top 101-500: 60k Gold, 120 Beguiling Dust, 12 Purification Shards, 1 Mystery Legendary Item
History[]
Trial of the Hordes was first available from June 28, 3 a.m–July 12, 3 a.m, 2023 (server time).
In the September 6, 2023 update, several changes were made:
- It is no longer possible to identify the opponent when matched
- Tiebreakers were added in case the time runs out
- Kill counter and damage taken indicators were added
- Damage, attack speed, and movement speed for monsters increased, and these attributes scale the longer a monster remains alive
From the introduction of the event the following weekly tasks and rewards were available. They were no longer brought back when Trial of the Hordes ran as part of Feast of the Valenti, which had its own set of tasks.

Trial of Plunder[]
During March of the Goblins, a version of Trial of the Hordes called Trial of Plunder was active. This version replaced many of the enemies with Treasure Goblins, which dropped multiple stacks of 1 gold each. The Perdition boss monster also didn't spawn, making it more likely to reach high kill streaks and the match ending with a timeout instead of one of the players being killed.
