The Tower is a dungeon in Diablo IV.[1]
Gameplay[]
The Tower is a multi-stage dungeon meant to be completed only by high level players. It was introduced in Season 11, and will be updated through subsequent seasons.[1]
The Tower is accessed through the Obelisk in Cerrigar. From there, players can run the Tower on any difficulty level already unlocked with the Pit. Players have 10 minutes from exiting the first circle of the Tower to complete the entire dungeon.[1]
Players fight through multiple floors, each with a randomized tile and monster family. Players gain access by killing monsters and collecting orbs. The more experience monsters provide upon death, the more score they provide. During a run, pylons will appear after destroying towers found throughout the level. Players are guaranteed to see four pylons across their run; the towers provide temporary empowerment. The first three pylons appear in a random order while still guaranteeing each of the three options will appear at least once, but the fourth will be random repeat of one of the prior pylons each run.[1] As players ascend the Tower, each level is more difficult than the one below.[2]
When enough progress has been made, a random Tower boss will spawn.[1]
Upon completing a run of the Tower, players will see their Tower tier they completed, and their final time.[1]
Development[]
The Tower was distinctly built with the upgrades to monster AI Diablo IV received prior to the release of Season 11.[2] Future iterations of the Tower will be shaped in accordance with player feedback. It was designed with monster changes that will be implemented in Season 11, meaning that players will have to react to monster tactics.[1]
