The central part of the Enclave

The Survivors' Enclave (sometimes misspelled as Survivor's Enclave) is a town and NPC hub in Act V of Diablo III.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls[]

It is a makeshift refugee camp built amidst the central square of Westmarch as the Reapers attack the rest of the city, in front of the Zakarum Cathedral. Basically, it is a center of operations against the Reapers in Westmarch, where most of the survivors encountered by the Nephalem eventually evacuate.

The Enclave is flooded with refugees, many of whom form separate storylines. Notable examples include a mother driven mad by her child left behind, a story of a deserter and a girl he saved, a preaching madman worshiping Malthael (eventually disappearing with his followers), an arrogant nobleman and his wife trying to buy their way out of the city, and many more. Throughout the Campaign, they all develop and change their dialogue for the player to overhear or ask directly. Some NPCs only appear in the Enclave after their respective side quests are completed in the field.

Access to Musty Cellar (Sounds in the Cellar event) appears briefly in the northern part of the zone (to the south from Diadra's table).

This section contains facts and trivia relevant to this article.
  • During the final stages of the conquest towards Malthael in Pandemonium Fortress, he will unleash the energies of the Black Soulstone on Sanctuary, presumably killing many humans. However, The Survivors' Enclave will remain unaffected.
  • After establishing the camp, it is no longer possible to return to the streets and sewers used to access the town square, as well as into the Zakarum Cathedral (which was originally intended to keep the survivors safe, with disastrous consequences).
  • This town has the highest amount of interactable and talkable NPCs in all three games, as well as highest amount of side plot lines. Many of them may go unnoticed unless players literally check every corner after every stage of every quest.
  • Unlike other towns, the Enclave changes lighting depending on the current active main quest.
  • It is also one of the two towns (the other being New Tristram) where player does not start the respective Act, and must fight their way to claiming the area first.
  • Initial fight for reclamation aside, it is also the only town in game which does not get attacked at some point during the Campaign (if one counts Caldeum and Hidden Camp as same town). Ironically, it is also the only town where no NPCs can die over the course of the plotline (excluding disappearing fanatics).
