The Reaper's Toll is a unique Thresher in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction.
Although its damage may not be as high as other weapons, the Reaper's Toll bestows some effective bonuses. Its seemingly mediocre damage is greatly increased with its chances to activate Deadly Strike and Decrepify, which gets a double damage hit once in every three hits - and an almost constant 50% added to final damage from the curse. The curse also acts as a defensive ability, seriously reducing speed on nearby hostile attackers. That, combined with high life steal and some cold damage, make this weapon one of the best mercenary weapons available in the game, particularly if it is Ethereal.
When used on a hireling, it is also particularly valuable to characters who deal physical damage, as they too may benefit from Decrepify's lowering of physical resistances. It's one of the best weapons in regards to increasing the physical damage of party members (competing with the Runeword Pride, which gives a high-level Concentration Aura), and comes with the added bonus of severely reducing enemy movement and attack speed.
