The Exiled Apprentice is the second Ashwold Cemetery quest in Diablo Immortal. It starts directly after the completion of The Risen Dead, and leads directly into Consulting the Guards.

Objectives[]

  • Talk to Ulric
  • Head to the Crypt of the Honored Dead.
    (The groundskeeper's son was recently conscripted to the local guards. He suggests you Head to the Crypt of the Honored Dead to learn more.)
  • Kill the Undead.
    (Lethes has appeared. Defend Bramden from the exiled necromancer's undead minions.)
  • Talk to Xul.
    (Xul, the necromancer that contacted Cain,[1] has arrived to stop his apprentice's acts of senseless chaos. Learn what you can from him.)
  • Talk to Guard Bramden.
    (Bramden, Samina and Ulric's son seems shaken by Lethes's assault. Best to check how he's holding up.)

Meanwhile at the crypt, Lethes has bound 2 guards, and is interrogating one of them

  • Captain Mayfair: The Queen’s tomb...was hidden. The dead...deserve...their rest.
  • Lethes: Wrong answer. The dead serve me! A fact you will learn soon enough.
Lethes throws the guard down below
  • Lethes: You! It’s your turn, (picks up the next guard) so I suggest you speak quickly. Where is the tomb?
  • Guard Bramden:: I don’t know! None of us do! Only the queen’s handmaiden knew its location, I swear!

Xul arrives and interrupts Lethes

  • Xul: Lethes, stop this! Your wanton disregard for life ends here. You will be brought to justice...
  • Lethes: Xul...how I tire of your jealous attempts to suppress my potential. No. Now, with the power of the Worldstone at my command, I will obtain true dominion over the dead.
    Your entire lethargic order will be swept away and replaced by one with the ambition to reshape this corrupt world. You are a relic, old man, and you are no longer needed.
