The Cranium Basher is a Unique Maul found in Diablo I. Its high damage and good bonuses are offset by the big Mana penalty and the fact that it is two-handed. Both these shortcomings are not a problem for the Barbarian, as he can wield it one-handed and the class' magic penalty means he isn't affected by the -Mana. Unfortunately, even he will find that due to the lack of attack speed bonuses, The Cranium Basher may not be able to lock his enemies into hit recovery animation, more specifically the Succubi and Magi.
