The Chieftain is a normal unique Battle Axe from Diablo II.
The Chieftain is a very useful axe when found, as it provides solid damage, added attack speed and resistances.
Despite its added Lightning damage, The Chieftain tends to pale in comparison to other, stronger two-handed weapons. Still, it is generally a Normal difficulty weapon, and is generally useful in that difficulty. Its added resistances help as well.
