Terror Essence is an item in Diablo Immortal, introduced in the Precipice of Horror update.

Terror Essence is a sticky substance found in Terror Rifts. When touched,it shows the person a vision of a nearby Oblivion Pillar.[1]
Gameplay[]
Terror Essence is essential to partaking in Oblivion Pillars and Hellslayer Bounties. Terror Essence can come from rewards chests provided by Stygian Spires, and improves the player's chances of obtaining Eternal Equipment. Essence can be bought and sold at Wynton's Grand Market for platinum.
There is a Codex task for using 10 Terror Essences in a week that rewards a piece of equipment irrespective of Battle Points being capped or not. This task can hold up to 2 weeks' progress.
Use to start an Oblivion Pillar, which has a chance to award Eternal Equipment. Can also be used to create Hellslayer Bounties.

Originally, the codex task for using 10 essences in a week reset every Monday. In the August 7, 2024 update, it was changed to keep up to 2 weeks' progress.
