Terror Ascending is the last storyline quests released with the Terror's Tide update on Diablo Immortal. It starts at the end of Stolen Lives, immediately after the player consoles Fern.

Objectives[]

  • Talk to Zatham.
    (Speak with Zatham and determine what, if anything, can be done next.)
  • Return to Westmarch.
  • Return to Cain's Workshop.
    (You have halted the cult's advance on Stormpoint, but the conflict is only at a lull. Return to Cain's Workshop.)
  • Talk to Cain and Karshun.
    (You have a regretful tale to share. Visit Cain's workshop, and talk to Cain and Karshun about the stolen Worldstone shard.)
  • Plan with Cain and Karshun.
    (The shard is gone, but you can still follow — if you can find the cult. Plan your next step with Cain and Karshun.)

Talk to Zatham

  • Zatham: I have hunted fanatics like these for a long time. In my homeland we have no shortage of vile hearts. I will find their scent.
  • Class: We're going after them together, Zatham. Come find me when you know more.
  • Zatham: Of course. I will need your strength. Once I have their trail, I will return to you.
    The signs grow in number. We must follow on the fanatics' trail soon.

  • Class: (upon entering Cain's Workshop) Cain! Karshun! I have news. And I could use your advice.
Terror Ascending

Talk to Cain and Karshun

  • Class: Diablo's cult failed to take Stormpoint Keep... but they got the better of me. A massive shard of the Worldstone is in their hands.
  • Karshun: The shard was your objective. One island saved will not be enough if all nations fall.
  • Deckard Cain: Dire news indeed... yet we are fortunate you blunted their advance. Every person we help is one more we can count on. King Justinian's aid is coming to Stormpoint, but it will take time.
  • Class: I almost had it, Cain. There were two orphans... Fern and... and Esmund. While I was trying to save them, one of the cult's leaders found the shard.
    Fern was surrounded by demons. I couldn't let them take her.
  • Karshun; So you saved an orphan girl and let the shard slip away. Perhaps she can join us to watch the world burn.
Plan your next course of action
  • Karshun: Where is it now?
  • Class: I don't know. But, Karshun, they can't bring it directly to Diablo. At least not yet. I heard them talking. They need to prepare it first.
  • Karshun: And what is the nature of this preparation? How long will it take? Where will it occur? Incomplete observation leads to unexpected deaths.
  • Deckard Cain: You are too harsh, old friend. They risked their lives, and would again. Until our hope is dashed to nothing, we must try.
  • Karshun: Yes. On that we agree, Cain. Tell me your plan.
  • Class: They're supposed to bring it to a "Bride of Hell." The cultist that ruined your ritual.[1] If we find her. perhaps we can intercept the ones transporting the shard.
  • Deckard Cain: A portentious title, but not one I am familiar with. If only I had more of the Horadric writings to hand. The End Times are smothering Sanctuary... and I cannot even name all of Hell's agents.
  • Class: We will prevent the Lord of Terror's return.
