Tarzoine was one of the Elders of the Lilin, and the mother of Rhyn. She provides help to the Shard-seeker when her homeland Ancients' Cradle was assaulted by Terror, and ravaged by Destruction.

"The Children of Inarius were cruel to us — to all the Lilin. They kept food for themselves while we starved. Anyone who suggested leaving the island was punished."

In the 13th century Ymuthrus became the new Prevailing Wind and ruled the island with an iron fist. The Lilin were discriminated against. Resources were shared unequally between the two groups and the Lilin were unfairly punished for offences. At a point, the Lilin elder Morwith, along with her followers stole the Pathstone and fled the island. After the incident, the Fire of Life became unstable and cursed the island and its inhabitants.

The Lilin were susceptible to this affliction. This made them to face harsher treatment, with some Inari blaming them as the cause of the curse. the afflicted were taken away to be locked up. When Tarzoine showed symptoms of the affliction, she fled to the nearby farmlands. There she was captured by the Cult of Terror, and was interrogated for information about a means to harness the power of the island.
