Tarkal was once a resident of the Razed Village. He was infamous as the town's misfit while the village still stood.
Biography[]
Tarkal was a known misfit in the Razed Village while it still stood. One time he spotted a beautiful ring in possession of Veszta; a friend of the village's jeweler. After staking her house, he stole the ring in the dead of the night. The next day, the village was razed by khazra.[1]
Tarkal was lucky to escape, but lost all his belongings as his home was burnt by khazra. He planned to go back and raid Veszta's house for treasure; as she was regularly given gifts in the form of jewelry by Eperke; the village's jeweler. The only problem was that the village was now infested with khazra.
Tarkal asks an adventurer to help put his "fiancee's" remains to rest
In order to combat this problem, he needed an experienced adventurer to guard him. Posing as a mourning fiance, he tricked a passing adventurer to escort him to the village. They were able to reach Veszta's house, after clearing the area of khazra.[2]
After searching the house they found out that the cellar was buried under rubble, therefore had been untouched by khazra. With his goal in hand, he prepared to search the cellar, which doubled as Veszta's grave, for any loot.[2]
Unfortunately, the cellar was haunted by Veszta's spirit, which then attacked him. Fortunately, the adventurer was able to drive the wraith away. After that, the adventurer took Veszta's ring from Tarkal and returned it to her cellar, which caused her to pass on in peace.[2]
