The slain hero is a corpse found on Level 9 in the original Diablo. When he is searched, the player's character says, "Rest in peace, my friend." The corpse will drop a magical Breastplate for Warriors, a magical Long Battle Bow for Rogues and a Lightning Spellbook for Sorcerers.
