Shrine of the Penitent

The Shrine of the Penitent is a Cathedral of Light shrine located on the Anointed Ascent. It is the last stage of the pilgrimage penitents undertake across the Fields of Judgment. The Idol of the Faithful must be brought here.^[1]

In-game[]

The Shrine of the Penitent is an Anointed Ascent sub-zone in Diablo IV, and is an intermediary area between the Ascent and Alabaster Peak. Coming here completes the "Pilgrimage" campaign quest. Vigo appears here as an NPC during the questline.

Points of Interest[]

Redemption: Believe in your faith! The Father is prosphesised to redeem us all. "A spear of Light, piercing Hatred's heart." When he ascends to the Heavens, he shall lift us with him to the Light above.
- The tablet is found just south of the shrine, at its steps. While technically it falls within the Fields of Judgment, from a practical standpoint, the tablet is part of the shrine's layout.
