Shieldholm is the sacred temple of the Inari in the Ancients' Cradle.[1]

Shieldholm was built around the shrine of Inarius located at the western end of the island.[2] It was an attempt by the Inari to replicate the vistas of the High Heavens with mortal materials.[3] Unlike the rest of the cradle, all structures in Shieldholm are powered purely by the Father's Legacy,[2] and entry is forbidden to the Lilin.[4]
Recent History[]
Shieldholm
After failing to connect with the Fire of Life, the Cult of Terror tried to harvest its component parts separately. They succeeded in harvesting some of the Mother's Legacy, but when they arrived at Shieldholm they were attacked by Sacred Guardians. The cult unleashed a blast of the Mother's Legacy upon the golems, which corrupted and subverted them.[2] This also introduced corruption to Shieldholm.
The corruption continued to spread even after the cult left the cradle. And eventually parts of Shieldholm had totally changed.[4]
