The Seneschal
The Seneschal was a robotic pet in Diablo IV, available in Season of the Construct.
Lore[]

The Seneschal being directed
The Seneschal was created by Zoltun Kulle. It is a mighty weapon, capable of harnessing ancient power for the one strong enough to control it.[1] A one-of-a-kind construct, it was built to command the other constructs,[2] and protect the one commanding it in turn.[3]
The Seneschal was buried in a vault deep below the sands of Kehjistan. The vault it was buried in was equipped with a number of traps, and a number of adventurers lost their lives in pursuit of the device.[1] They emerged from the vault, but the Seneschal was left behind, broken. It was later retrieved by the Wanderer and repaired by Ayuzhan, so it would follow the Wanderer's orders.[2]

Seneschal artwork
The Seneschal had various powers that it could be upgraded with. It could buff the player, provide defensive protection or deal damage. The Seneschal itself could not die, and did not have its skills manually activated. The Seneschal could be upgraded with turning and governing stones and the player could combine effects.[4]
The Seneschal's stats scaled with the player's. However, the Seneschal did not proc legendary/paragon/etc. passive effects.
Development[]
The Seneschal became so powerful in testing the developers had to buff seasonal boss health in some instances.[4]
Trivia[]
- In pre-release information, the Seneschal was stated to be a one-of-a-kind device,[2] and the season intro implies likewise. However, when faced with the Seneschal, Ayuzhan implies that other Seneschals exist, referring to it as a Seneschal rather than the Seneschal.
