Scouring the Mists is the third quest in the Forgotten Nightmares questline in Diablo Immortal. It leads on directly from Emergency Reinforcement, after the player finishes talking to the guard. Completing this quest leads directly into Seeker of Truth.
Objectives[]
- Search for the Guards in the Misty Valley.
(Your persistence has paid off! Shura is fighting the monsters deeper in the Misty Valley. Head into the mists and help the people of Zavain fight back against the nightmares.) - Kill the Nightmares (0/10).
(After tracking down the missing guards, you discover them battling a throng of nightmare demons. Lend your aid, quickly!) - Talk to the Acolyte.
(By your aid, the guards and acolytes have been pulled from the talons of the nightmares just in time. Speak to them to learn more and perhaps track down Shura once and for all.) - Find Shura.
(Shura continues to fight against the nightmares somewhere to the west. Head into the blackened mists and seek him out.) - Defend Shura from the Nightmares (0/6).
(Nightmares pour forth from the black mists, threatening to tear Shura apart. Join him in his fight against the darkness.) - Talk to Shura.
(It has been quite the battle to reach this moment, but finally you stand before Shura, the Veradani monk who begged for your aid. It seems his request[1] has been quite vindicated.)

The guards and some monks are fighting nightmares. A monk is killed
- Sentinel's Watch Guard: Keep fighting! We're not beaten yet!
- After killing the Nightmares
- Acolyte of Order: We've lost another! Oh Zaim, embrace your fallen son...

Talk to the Acolyte
- Acolyte of Order:
- Standard: The nightmares are endless, born from an old hatred that still seethes in the dark. The children of Rakkis...it is not their fault, but their fathers' fathers. See how we bleed to mend the wounds they inflicted.
- Crusader: I know that armor...adorned with the symbols of Zakarum's crusaders. Many terrible things were done upon this mountain by zealots wearing similar attire. Even now my people bleed to mend the wounds they inflicted.
- Class
- Standard: They are still fighting beside you, friend. Tell me, do you know where Shura is? I must find him before this worsens.
- Crusader: Two hundred years ago, my order swore to purge the corruption from the heart of our faith. Wearing this armor is my vow to root out the darkness. I will do everything in my power to aid you, but to do so, I must find Shura.
- Acolyte of Order
- Standard: To the west. If you move quickly, you will reach him. But be warned, he fights like a bull wisent whose calf has been stolen. Where he is, the mists will be at their thickest...and it is unlikely he will leave easily.
- Crusader: I believe you, but you may find your armor's weight harder to bear when the Zakarum's sins are revealed to you. Shura is to the west, if you move quickly you may still reach him.
- Class: A fair warning. Return to Sentinel's Watch. I will see to Shura's safety.

Talk to Shura
- Class
- Standard: Any praise from Oza, I will gladly accept. You're Shura, yes? Captain Vereks was worried for your safety.[1] We should head back to the Watch and discuss strategy.
- Monk: Oza was a force of Zaim's might, any praise of hers I will gladly accept. You're Shura, yes? Captain Vereks was worried for your safety. We should head back to the Watch and discuss strategy.
- Shura: As good of a man as Vereks is, he and the children of Rakkis do not have the interests of Zavain at heart. The Zakarum unleashed this terror and again it falls to my people to clean up their mess.
I called for you because I knew you can be trusted. You have proven it, with deeds.[2] I need you to help me, to save Esil, Kavash, and the others. They are still in the monastery, held captive beyond the blackened mists. - Shura:
- Standard: If we wait, they die, but you and I can save them! A mantra given by the great Patriarch Sladyan can help us. But I cannot do it alone. Only the power of my ancestors can disperse the fog that chokes this mountain.

- Class: What is your plan?
