"What? The scepter? Can't you see I'm busy? What do you need to know about that cursed thing?"
"Where to look would be useful. Supposedly, it's been separated into three pieces."
- The Shard-seeker and Peth(src)

The Scept of Fahir
The Scepter of Fahir is an artifact once wielded by King Fahir.
Lore[]
The scepter possesses no magical properties. Instead, its strength comes from its nature as a symbol to the people of the Shassar Sea. Magic or not, however, Lorath Nahr believed the scepter to be cursed, given the misery that had spread in its wake.[1]
History[]
The Scepter of Fahir was forged by Baari, a renown blacksmith of that time.[2] After Fahir's death,[3] the next king (also named Fahir) ordered Aghat (a descendant of Baari, and another renown blacksmith)[2] to split it into three pieces and buried beneath the Shassar sands, in an effort to ensure that his deeds would never be repeated. One of the pieces was sealed in the Chamber of Wisdom,[3] while the staff's head was buried with Fahir himself.[4] The third piece, a jewel titled "the Light of Fahir," was buried under the Chamber of Truth.[5] Over the ages, many searched for the scepter fragments, only to meet their ends.[4]
In 1270, Tabri entrusted the Shard-seeker to retrieve the scepter's pieces. In doing so, she would become the undisputed heir to Shassar.[3] They successfully collected the first fragment from the Chamber of Wisdom.[4] The second piece, the staff's head, was retrieve from Segithis after he was slain.[6] The third and final piece was retrieved from the Chamber of Truth, and the newly reconstituted staff presented to Tabri. With the staff, she now had the right to rule Shassar, and more importantly, given her a symbol to rally the people of Shassar behind, in order to defeat Vataos.[5]
Using the power of the scepter, Tabri declared war against the Sand Scorpions, but the Amber Blades were forced to retreat into the Library of Zoltun Kulle. Tabri and Vataos ended up in the Obliterated Realm, where they fought. Vataos took the scepter from Tabri, but he was defeated in turn by the Shard-seeker. They tried to escape, but Vataos, still not dead, attacked Tabri, preventing her from escaping the realm. In the chaos, the scepter went through the portal back into the Library, where it was picked up by Zov. He ran away with the scepter, intent on selling it.[7]
