The Sandstorm Trek, like its item type suggests, is named after the Scarab Demons of Aranoch. The majority of the Scarab Demons are found in the deserts which are frequently visited by sandstorms.
It can be said that this item helps the wearer to navigate, or trek, through those sandstorms with relative ease, as suggested by its bonuses to Stamina.
Another enemy of the deserts, the Sand Maggots, are associated with Poison, explaining why poison resistance is needed to safely trek through the deserts.
