Salvation is a Paladin Skill in Diablo II.

Lore

Trust in the glory of the Light, for its authority supercedes all power in the mortal world. With this aura, the Paladin calls upon the Light to protect his allies from elemental attacks.

General Information

This skill is very powerful for parties playing in Hell difficulty, where almost every monster has a magical attack and characters suffer from massive penalty to resistances. However, it is not as useful for solo play, where paladins often receive resistance bonuses from their shields. Overall, this is a useful utility skill for particularly nasty elemental enemies, such as Gloams and Oblivion Knights.

Just one point invested into this skill grants significant resistance bonuses. Cutting down all Fire, Cold, and Lightning damage by over half with just one point provides real defense against many monsters. However, Salvation provides no Resistance to Poison. It also provides no bonus to maximum resistances, unlike Resist Cold, Resist Fire, and Resist Lightning. Given its near-ubiquitous coverage of resistances however, it is a powerful substitute to all three.
