
Adventurers with rune-empowered equipment
Runes are a type of embeddable item in Diablo Immortal. They were introduced in the Nightmare Manifest update.
Runes can drop from any activity where gold and items can drop, including overworld farming, dungeons, Elder Rifts and Raid the Vault. Runes may drop as bound or unbound.
Each rune increases the basic attribute of the equipped item. Runes can only be embedded into specific gear slots depending on the rune.
Runesmithing is available at Charsi. It requires 3 runes of the same type (if the runes combined are Common/Magic/Rare) or 2 (if they are Legendary). An unbound rune can only be crafted from unbound runes, but a bound rune may consume unbound runes as ingredients. The result is a rune that is the next one in the Paragon level sequence (e.g. Aud (P.Lv 10) -> Nou (P.Lv 20)).

The name "rune" was initially used for a different system. The old system was replaced with the current Rune system in the Nightmare Manifest update.
The runes for Paragon levels 10-100 (Aud to Bol) were released on the day of the update.
The runes for Paragon levels 110-150 (Ent to Ece) were released on June 24, 2024.
The runes for Paragon levels 160-200 (Ati to Fa) were released on July 8, 2024.
The runes for Paragon levels 210-250 (Laz to Lev) were released on August 5, 2024.
The runes for Paragon levels 260-350 (Dyn to Raum) were released on September 30, 2024.
