Return to New Tristram is the tenth and final quest of Act I of Diablo III.
Walkthrough[]
Transcript[]
Core[]
- Leah: But how will we find him?
- Leah: I’m not going anywhere until Uncle Deckard’s been laid to rest.
- Class
- Necromancer: There is time enough for that.
- Tyrael: I have called for a caravan to guide us to the east. Speak to the caravan master when you are ready to go. We will see to Cain as we depart.
- Caravan Leader: My friend, shall we depart to Caldeum?[1]
Townsfolk Dialogue[]
- Class
- Necromancer: I wish to know more of the demons we face.
- Tyrael: Belial is the Lord of Lies. He desires power before all other things, and his thousand schemes are designed toward this end. His brother, Azmodan, reigns the other half of Hell as the Lord of Sin. I sense his influence in this world, but I do not yet know where he will strike.
- Class
- Necromancer: Certainly Belial must know.
- Tyrael: They are more rivals than allies in these days, but I pray that you are right.
- Brother Malachi the Healer: Farewell, protector of Tristram. Farewell, hero of prophecy. The scriptures speak of the evil you will battle in Caldeum, and I am certain...certain that you will succeed.
- Covetous Shen: Where do we go next? To the great desert?
- Class
- Necromancer: We go to Caldeum.
- Covetous Shen: Caldeum! Yes, the great Jewel of the East!
- Class
- Necromancer: It is a city, not a jewel.
- Covetous Shen: I knew that.[1]
Quest Journal[]
- Part 1
- Barbarian: The angel's name is Tyrael. I do not know his full purpose, but it would be foolish to cast away such a powerful ally. I should speak to him further.
- Crusader: The fallen star was, in truth, an angel named Tyrael. Things have become decidedly more interesting. I think this may indeed be the work of the Crusade.
- Demon Hunter: Deckard Cain was right all along. The Stranger is in fact the archangel Tyrael. It is hard to belive...I have seen many demons, but no angels. I’ll need to learn more about why he has come here and what he means to accomplish.
- Monk: The Stranger is the archangel Tyrael. What does it mean? I must meditate and ask for wisdom from the gods.
- Necromancer: Tyrael brings a dire warning. It seems our battle has just begun.
- Wizard: The falling star was the archangel Tyrael. I don't know why he arrived in such a strange manner, but I am sorely lacking of allies and will accept any help I can get. Hopefully, he can answer some of the questions I have.
- Part 2
- Barbarian: I should finish my business here before I go to Caldeum.
- Crusader: I suppose I should finish my work here before going to Caldeum.
- Demon Hunter: It will be time to move on to Caldeum soon. I mustn’t keep them waiting.
- Monk: My path leads to Caldeum.
- Wizard: I will put my affairs in order here before we travel to Caldeum. We may not be back for a long time.
