Private Nightmares is a side quest in Diablo Immortal. It is activated when the player talks to Chayne whenever he appears in Sentinel's Watch at Mount Zavain.

Where to find the side quest
Objectives[]
- Look for Trinetta.
(Trinetta should be on the Foggy Plains where she was last scheduled to patrol) - Disperse the nightmares (0/12).
(Nightmares are surrounding Trinetta — drive them off) - Talk to Trinetta.
(The nightmares behavior is unusual. Maybe Trinetta knows something about what's going on) - Find a sleep aid.
(Trinetta can't be the only one at Sentinel's Watch unable to sleep at night. Talk to the soldiers and find something to help her) - Bring the sleep herbs to Trinetta (0/1).
(Asleep, Trinetta should be able to lure more of the nightmares out. Return to her) - Wait for Trinetta to sleep.
(The sleep herbs need some time to work. Find a safe place for an ambush) - Destroy the nightmares (0/8).
(Trinetta nightmares have returned — even hungrier than before. Destroy them) - Destroy the Secret-Eater (0/1).
(The terrifying being Chayne described has appeared — stop it before it overwhelms the soldiers) - Save Chayne (0/1).
(Chayne is in the grip of the Secret-Eater, and not likely to free himself) - Talk to Trinetta.
(The nightmares are vanquished. Check on Trinetta)

Meeting Chayne at Sentinel's Watch
- Chayne: Wh... what in all the world? When did I... get here? You — can you help?
- Class: What's happened?
- Chayne: Trinetta and I were on perimeter. I saw a... faceless thing in the dark mdash it looked at me, I felt cold to my bones... and that's it. I don't even remember coming back here.
She's too shaky to be out there alone. We have to back her up. Without raising the whole fort; I don't want to get brigged for leaving my post. - Class: Let's go. Come on.
- Chayne: We were just northwest, I think. My head's swimming a bit.

Trinetta is found asleep and surrounded by nightmares
- Chayne: There! You... get away from her
- After defeating the Nightmares
- Chayne: Is... is she...
I knew she wasn't ready to go back out. I knew it.

Trinetta wakes up
- Trinetta: Chayne... what's going on?
- Class: The demons were just watching you at first. Unusual.
- Trinetta: I don't know how I fell asleep, but the nightmares... worst of my life. It was right after training, when the khazra caught us in the valley. I couldn't hold my sword, and we ran...
- Chayne: We what Trins? Survived. That's right. Sometimes it's smart to run. Doesn't make either of us cowards.
- Class: If the demons didn't kill you... maybe they were feeding on your nightmares. We should make sure they're all dead. Can you get back to sleep?
- Trinetta: Now? Are you serious? Maybe if I was drugged. Or head-split drunk.
- Chayne: Trins.. I'm thinking perimeter patrol's no good for you. What about masonry?

Meet Captain Vereks for sleeping aid
- Captain Vereks: I know why you're here. It's tough for anyone to get an evening's sleep. These herbs will knock you out. Just don't take it too much.
- Go back to Trinetta
- Trinetta: Another nightmare's the last thing I need... but if this ends it, well... cheers.
- Trinetta takes her medicine and falls asleep. More Nightmares appear
- Chayne: There! More of them!
- After killing the Nightmares
- Chayne: Is that all of them? Are you sure?

The Secret-Eater appears. Chayne is caught in its grasp
- Chayne: I can't... breath... not this.
- After killing the Secret-Eater
- Chayne: Th-thank you. Hope I never see that thing again.
- Trinetta: Is it over? Chayne, did you...
- Chayne: I didn't do a damn thing. Maybe I should try masonry.
- Trinetta: The demons... did you get them? I had the exact same nightmare again.
- Class: They're gone. They seemed drawnn by your fear. Don't let it control you, and you'll be a little safer.
As long as you can handle it. But if this happens again — to either of you — you need to speak up. - Trinetta: Didn't think we'd get any help. I owe ya.
- Chayne: Of course.
