This skill simply adds lightning damage to a normal javelin/spear thrust attack (only affects melee hits; throws are resolved as normal). The maximum damage can reach very high levels with enough synergy points spent, but it's only a single hit. This makes this skill unsuited to crowd control.
In nearly all cases, Charged Strike generally does better damage against single or multiple opponents due to its ability to hit multiple times.
