Poison Nova

Poison Nova is a Necromancer skill in Diablo II.

Lore[]

This spell befouls the atmosphere surrounding the caster. With an arcane chant, the Necromancer corrupts the very air we breathe and causes it to erupt in all directions. It is from years of investigation and preparation that the Necromancer can choose a poisonous gas that is toxic to the minions of evil, yet harmless to himself and his companions.

Synergies[]

  • Gives synergy to:
Poison Dagger: +20% Poison damage per level
Poison Explosion: +15% Poison damage per level
  • Receives synergy from:
Poison Dagger: +10% Poison damage per level
Poison Explosion: +10% Poison damage per level

Usage[]

Poison Nova is the last poison-based skill the Necromancer will get. It is arguably the best poison skill for necromancers, as one cast hits just about every enemy on screen and deals massive poison damage in a short amount of time.

The Breath of the Dying Runeword has a chance of casting this with each kill. In both Diablo II and Diablo III, Andariel's Visage may cast this skill upon being hit (D2) or upon hitting an enemy (D3). Mad Monarch's Scepter allows releasing Poison Nova on a kill streak.

Diablo III[]

In Diablo III, Poison Nova does not return, but is replaced by a functionally similar Death Nova.
