Phasing Requires: 39 Magic Active Cost: 12 Mana (-2 per Spell Level, minimum 4) A blind, unpredictable blink jump to a nearby location. Damage Type: Magic |
Phasing is a spell in Diablo I, a weaker version of Teleport and Warp.
General Information[]
Upon casting, Phasing teleports the player onto a random but always nearby spot. As the spell uses up little Mana and does not require a precise click, compared to its more consistent counterpart Teleport, it is mostly used to escape mobs of monsters. Of course, one should be wary when using the spell in a cramped environment; the caster can go past walls and potentially find themselves surrounded as a result.
Random location is somewhere on the visible screen, regardless of facing. Since Phasing is non-targeting, it casts .05 faster than Teleport, and can therefore be useful to escape when stunlocked. Warp is a better choice in Hellfire, since it takes the caster further away, and to a predictable location.
The Holy Shrine casts Phasing on the user, free of Mana cost. A Unique Staff (Gleamsong) contains Phasing charges.
