The Pathstone

The Pathstone is a powerful artifact briming with untold power. It has powers of sealing and unsealing, and is said to extend beyond doors — even to the sky.[1]

Lore[]

The Pathstone is an artifact from the time of the Ancients that was made to act as a conduit for the Fire of Life. It can be used to show or hide the path to anything that the user desires. Before it can reveal a path, it must be attuned to the target to be found.[2]

The Pathstone can only reach its full potential when balanced, thus one must be careful when using it or risk unbalancing it.[3]

History[]

The Pathstone was birthed from the Fire of Life. Sources differ as to whether it was Lilith[4] or Inarius[5] that created it. Its main purpose is to balance the embers of both halves of the Fire of Life,[5] and also to keep Ancients' Cradle hidden.[2]

Around or before 1272, the Pathstone was stolen by Morwith.[6]

In-game[]

The Pathstone was first introduced in the quest "Trail of Terror," and serves as a major plot in the pursuit of the Cult of Terror to retrieve the stolen Worldstone shard. In later quests it is used in cutscenes only to interact with different parts of Ancients' Cradle.
