Old Tristram Road is the first open wilderness zone in Act I of Diablo III. It's divided into three separate parts and holds the first optional zones. It contains no special threaths apart of the Wretched Mothers, though they only spawn on the quest.
Part I[]
It is first reached by traveling north out of the eastern gate of New Tristram. It's the biggest part of this location and contains multiple buildings and farms. Four randomly spawning optional zones can be found there:

Part II[]
The second part is reached after going through The Old Ruins and completing The Fallen Star quest. It's a small part that contains only a bunch of Risen and Walking Corpses.
Part III[]
The third part is very close to the second one as it's reached by going through Adria's Hut. It's an even smaller stretch of road though it has an optional zone:
