The Old Diary is a tome in the first act of Diablo III. It is one of many needed to complete the achievement A Quick Study. It and eight other tomes are found in Old Keepsake Boxes along Old Tristram Road and in The Old Ruins, though only one or two boxes appear in each game session.
The journal was written by a male resident of Tristram and reads as follows:
- If only this is true, perhaps our days and nights of living in terror are behind us now.
- Old Tristram Villager
Based on the voice and portrait, this diary and the Lost Journal seem to have the same author. The contents imply the Journal was written first.
