Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac is a legendary ring in Diablo III. It requires character level 50 to drop. When it was reworked for Season Three (patch 2.2.0), it was a season-only drop; it now drops for all characters.
The unique affix triggers once per cast (once per tick for channeled skills) for any damaging attack that costs resources and randomly reduces the cooldown of one currently recharging skill by one second. Only Hatred expenditure counts for Demon Hunters; spending Discipline will not trigger the effect. This is extremely powerful for builds relying on long-recharging skills such as Archon, Earthquake, Wrath of the Berserker, or Akarat's Champion.
Skills that have their normal resource cost removed for any reason—whether by a skill rune, Channeling Pylon, or item bonus—will not trigger this effect. For example, Blessed Shield will not trigger a cooldown reduction if Gyrfalcon's Foote is equipped, since the item bonus removes the Wrath cost of that skill.
This ring has seven properties rather than the usual six. It is also the only item with all four Primary Magic Properties guaranteed to be percentage-based bonuses, making it mostly irrelevant whether it is Ancient or not. Ancient status is also not relevant to the socket that almost all characters would obtain through enchanting, although it might be for the ring's random secondary property or interactions with other effects like the Legacy of Nightmares amd Legacy of Dreams.

Trivia[]
- Prior to Patch 2.1.0, it was noted for its guaranteed properties adding to all core stats at once and granting a bonus to all resistances.
- The description, name, and pre-2.1 affixes for the ring may be a reference to a magic ring affix combo very much sought after on jewelry by heroes in the original Diablo and Hellfire games: Obsidian (all resistances) and Zodiac (all attributes).
