- Nisza to the Shard-seeker(src)
Nisza is a witch and a member of the Untameable Wilds coven. She was tasked with protecting the Voidwound's prison.
Biography[]
Nisza is the current Wardkeeper (a witch entrusted with the protection of the secrets of her Circle) of the Untameable Wilds. This included the island and prison where the Voidwound was sealed[1].
Sometime after the Fall of Damnation, the island was attacked by the Cult of Terror. While she was distracted by the cultists, Shumbeel arrived and attempted to destroy the prison. Nisza managed to stop him before he did too much damage and placed a ward to prevent trespassers from causing more damage. She then ventured into the prison to see the extent of the damage[1].
Unfortunately, the Voidwound had started reforming and sent shades to overwhelm her but she managed to escape through a portal[1].
Later, she sensed activity from a prison fragment and portaled to the location to check it out. This led her to meet the Shard-seeker, Rayek and Commander Kaya at the Einfrinn Tree. The shades tracked her location and ambushed all of them[1].
After dealing with the shades and clearing a misunderstanding, she discovered that what she sensed was the Einfrinn Tree resonating with a Crimson Slag, creating flowers around it. Using a flower, she empowered her staff to make it better able to reseal the Voidwound[1].
Fearing that another portal might be tracked, she and the Shard-seeker took a ship back to the island. After dealing with the remaining cultists and a freed Shumbeel, she realized that the ward had been tampered with[1].
This resulted in the Voidwound breaking their prison. The explosion threw both Nisza and the Shard-seeker into the sea where they were rescued[1].
Together with some Westmarch soldiers that were mobilized by Kaya, Nisza and the Shard-seeker enter the portal at the Einfrinn Tree to get to the Starless Shrine. There, they battled with Catarag's demonic army, until Nisza created a ward to freeze every opponent in the battlefield.
Noticing a shadow on the ground, she looked up to see Catarag pouncing on them in a surprise attack. Unfortunately, she was only able to protect the Shard-seeker, leaving the soldiers to die. Their battle with Catarag then begins in earnest.
Through out the battle, Nisza and the Shard-seeker supported each other, saving the other's life on different occasions. Finally, they succeeded in killing Catarag.
Exhausted and injured, Nisza left the demonic remains for her partner to deliver to Rayek and retreated back to her coven to recover[1].
Nisza later returned to Westmarch, where she offered Rites of Cleansing to adventurers.[2]
Personality & Traits[]
Nisza is proud of her Circle and her duty to them, even willing to risk her life for it. Other times, she has a dry sense of humor and is prone to sarcasm. Her sarcasm sometimes makes it difficult for people to judge her mood.[3]
Abilities[]
As a Wardkeeper, Nisza is talented in magics related to ward crafting, containment and protection. Her shields are strong enough to defend a blow from Shumbeel, and ward off the flames of Catarag.
She is knowledgeable enough to patch a damaged ward so that it can still contain powerful demons for some time. She can also cast a ward that instantly froze all enemies in the area.
