"Hush, Husband. If you die now, at least I won’t be far behind. Now go, and hurry back to me."
Nikola was a resident of Bastion's Keep. She was married to Drian; a soldier who was stationed there. When Azmodan besieged the fortress, Drian urged her to flee south, but upon his confirmation that he wouldn't flee with her, she refused to flee. She told him to put a sword in her hand, and she'd fight alongside him.[1]
During the siege, demons invaded the keep's main stronghold, but they were defeated by The Nephalem. Afterwards, Nikola asked Drian how he was able to face the demons. He said that he did it for her.[2]
Eventually, the demons were driven from the keep, though the fighting continued outside. Nikola stated that when the siege was over, they should have children. Drian stated "that sounds wonderful. I think I’m needed back on the wall."[3]
When The Nephalem departed the keep to confront Azmodan, Drian complained how he wasn't able to be there. Nikola said "good. You could use some sleep." Drian responded that he wasn't tired, before catching on.[4]
The siege concluded with Azmodan's defeat, but in light of Adria's betrayal, The Nephalem pursued a reborn Diablo into Heaven. Returning to Bastion's Keep, Nikola expressed her awe for The Nephalem, and thanked them for their efforts.[5]
Towards the end of the Nephalem's battle in Heaven, Nikola reminded them that her husband's blood had aided their victory against Azmodan. She asked them to not let it be for nothing.[6]
