Nafain was a Druid. One of the heroes of the Days of Ash, his hatred for the Cathedral of Light led him to fall prey to Lilith's manipulations.

When the Days of Ash began, Astaroth attacked the Druid college of Túr Dúlra. Many Druids rose up to defend their home.[1] Nafain reminded his disciples that nothing, not even the loss of their humanity, was too great a sacrifice to protect Túr Dúlra from Astaroth's flames.[2] Despite the Druids' defiance, the college fell.[1]
In what would be the last battle of the conflict, Nafain worked with fellow Druid Airidah and Donan to defeat Astaroth. Nafain attacked Astaroth using his bear form. While Astaroth was supposedly slain,[3] in reality, Donan sealed the demon in a soulstone. The trio devised wards to contain the demon's presence,[4] and after that, Nafain and Donan hid it in an underground cave at the edge of the wilderness near Kyovashad.[5]
After the Days of Ash, Donan invited the Cathedral of Light to help rebuild Scosglen, which resulted in garrisons of Knights Penitent being established in the land. This led Nafain and other Druids to believe that Donan had given their land away. Nafain remained a recluse, and refused to meet with Donan.[6]
