The Memory of Caldesann is an NPC in Diablo Immortal.
Biography[]
Caldesann and his fellow Horadrim imbued their essence in a crystal during the Dark Exile, storing their memories for future Horadrim.
In 1270, the Shard-seeker awoke Caldesann's memory, under direction by the Memory of Iben Fahd.[1]
In-game[]
The Memory of Caldesann appears as an NPC in the Sanctum of Iben Fahd, once the player has inserted Caldesann's Compassion into the shrine.
He is simply called "Caldesann" in-game, but has been given the "Memory" moniker to distinguish him from the original.
Tale[]
Wasn't good at naught but war, so I made it my job. Xiansai was divided at the time. Felt right, cleaning up someone else's mess. The company got sent to Chizu with simple orders: conscript everyone of fighting age, or sack the place. It was a bunch of settled bandits, we heard; violent against their neighbors, accompanied their robberies with mass conflagrations. So we weren't surprised when we marched in, made our demands, and instead of saying "no," somebody tossed a fire pot at the guy right in front of me. Burst into flame instantly, before he could scream. More of them threw. We were fighting with our clothes and hair catching on fire; horses were dragging their riders to death along the ground.
- Level 10
Four of us barged in. There was a little girl there, small like a mouse, with stringy hair, but otherwise it was empty. We all stood around, looking dumb; then Shunsek started to turn, but something about her hands shaking--like anticipation--stopped me. Only thing saved my life.
- Level 20
Next I knew, she had one of those fire pots in her right hand and the plug in the other, and she was about to pour it right in the middle of us. I just shouted at her "stop!" "please" and maybe it's because I didn't have my sword out, or maybe she could see how scared I was, but she stopped. I thought we'd averted disaster; that's how naïve I was.
Shunshek put his hands over the potion and Tsanag and Gaztya had the girl by the hair, and both of them took their knives out. I don't remember what I said to them. It wasn't impressive. Probably just how she was just a kid. They told me to leave if I didn't wanna watch.
- Level 30
Everything felt slow then. I tried to get them to stop but they were already holding her to the ground. I rounded on them, someone cut me bad, right over my eyes, and everything was red. When you know who the enemy is, and you're that close, you just start swinging and hope for the best.
