An adventurer with a Malignant Heart

Malignant Hearts are what fuel the Malignant. Cormond found a way to rip out the Malignant hearts, and use their power against the Malignant themselves.

In-game

Malignant Hearts could be extracted in Season of the Malignant. They could be obtained by slaying Partly Corrupted Malignant, using the Cage of Binding. Trying to capture the Heart would cause the Partly Corrupted enemy to be reborn as a Fully Corrupted enemy. If defeated, the monster would drop a Malignant Heart, which can be placed into special Infested sockets in jewelry in place of a gem.

There were 32 Malignant Hearts spread across four categories. One of the best places to acquire them was in Malignant Tunnels.
