In 1336, Oren's town was plagued by vampires.[1] Rumors of missing merchants swirled around town.[2] In truth, Oren was in league with them. Dozens of victims were lured into his office, and a number of adventurers were caught in his web, in order to be transformed into Blood Seekers. However, his master, Lord Zir, was not satisfied with his efforts.[3]
Still playing the role of a concerned magistrate, Oren requested aid from the Wanderer to investigate the recent slew of murders.[1] Upon their arrival, Oren directed them to investigate Vasily's Reach in Scosglen, where the last caravan had gone missing.[2] After their departure, Oren was summoned by Zir to the Tomb of Hallows. A retinue of vampires was left in his office to ambush anyone who came to investigate.[3]
Oren expected to be rewarded for his efforts.[3] Entering the tomb however, he was surrounded by a group of vampires. He begged for mercy, but was executed. Erys later theorized that Zir was aware that she and the Wanderer had complicated things, and that Oren had been killed because of Zir's frustration and/or to prevent him from giving them information.[4]
In-game[]
Oren appears in Ked Bardu in Season of Blood. He plays a role in the introductory "Blood Money" quest, and is seen again briefly in "Summons of the Deathless." His ring is obtained along the season questline.
