Lycanthropy

Class: Druid
Required Level: 1
Skill Tree: Shape Shifting Skills
Requires: Werewolf
Passive

Increases the Life of the Druid while Shapeshifted, as well as the duration of the transformation.

Damage Type: Physical
Synergies: Werewolf, Werebear

Lycanthropy is a Druid skill in Diablo II.

Synergies[]

  • Gives synergy to:
Werewolf
Werebear
  • Receives synergy from: None

Usage[]

The Druid has the ability to change from his human form into two different forms, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. Lycanthropy increases the time he can spend in a different form, and increases his life while in that form. It's a passive skill so no activation is required.

Any Druid who plans on using either Werewolf or Werebear form would be well advised to prioritize this skill, with some even expending the full 20 points on Lycanthropy.

Internally (in Skills.txt, SkillDesc.txt etc.), this skill is known as just "Shape Shifting", which is arguably more relevant here, since "lycanthropy" by itself refers only to wolves (from Greek "lykos", "wolf").

Lore[]

Changing shape is quite a taxing ordeal for a Druid, and he can only assume animal forms for a limited time. This skill enhances his constitution while in animal form, thereby increasing the amount of time he can remain transformed.
