Liria was one of the gods of Xiansai, the personification of the second moon in the sky (not the Silver Moon of Sanctuary).
Biography[]
Liria was a goddess of incomparable beauty, which occasionally has caught the eye of Dirgest. He decided to make Liria his wife, and after a while, she agreed: the god of desire was too persistent in his efforts. However, despite all his jealous attempts to keep Liria off the face of the world, he could not guard her at night, when she had to travel the sky. Liria quickly became lonely and bored, but Dirgest would have never let her away.
Zei eventually seduced Liria, stalking into her palace at night. Before disappearing, the thief has left her a gift: a large ruby on her neck. Infuriated and humiliated, Dirgest killed everyone Zei has ever held dear, including Liria herself, leaving his minion Vekriss to guard her soul. Even though Zei did not love Liria, he avenged her death by trapping Dirgest into the very same ruby he once gave to her.
Liria's spirit has been set free many years later, when the Nephalem and Covetous Chen killed Vekriss in the Unearthed Ruins. She recognized Shen as Zei, and said she was happy to see his face, before departing to her afterlife.[1]
In-game[]
Liria's ghost found in game is not interactable (the only thing players can do to her is initiate the dialogue between her and Shen), and uses a placeholder portrait (of a generic ghost woman) and model (of Isendra). She disappears immediately after Shen bids her farewell.
Due to the way "The Jewel of Dirgest" quest works, each character can only see her once.
