Synopsis[]
The graphic novel is told through Linarian's point-of-view. It begins with a short narration showing the events of the Purge. Before this, Linarian heard a voice and had a vision of the future, one which he revealed to Lilith. In the present, Linarian fears this is what caused Lilith to turn on the angels and demons who had followed her and Inarius to Sanctuary. During the slaughter, Linarian's love-interest and first disciple is killed.
Linarian tries to resurrect her for days in vain. Tired and frustrated, Linarian leaves the Temple of the Firstborn, and retires to live a normal life as a farmer. He meets another nephalem named Kessime, whom he marries. Centuries pass by, and the pair have many children. One day, while farming, Linarian finds a lower root. He throws it to the ground and it turns into a Weeping Lily flower—the same type that grew in the Temple's garden. He is summoned to the temple by a strange voice. The voice christens him Rathma, "Keeper of Balance."
