Leap is a Barbarian Skill in Diablo II.

In the console version of Diablo II: Resurrected, the skill has a set distance.[1]

Lore[]

Because of his great strength, a trained barbarian warrior is able to perform great leaps. These jumps are noteworthy, enabling the Barbarian to spring free of dangerous swarms of enemies, and landing with an impact that sends them reeling.

General Information[]

Synergies[]

Leap is a very versatile skill, with a cost of 2 just Mana. It also causes Knockback on all the monsters around the area where the Barbarian lands, though it does not damage them.

Leap is very handy for quickly traversing obstacles. Leap is also a good skill for getting out of danger when surrounded, or getting closer to the fray.

Leap can also be used to jump in tight dungeon corridors such as Maggot Lair in Act II, like Leap Attack, Dragon Flight, and Teleport, and although these are somewhat superior, they cost at least 4 times as much Mana, and are only available at a higher level.

When facing foes infamous for resurrecting other minions, like a Greater Mummy or the Fallen Shaman, Leap can close the gap quickly and safely to quickly take out these troublesome monsters.

The position desired must be within the user's line of sight, i.e., no complete solid walls between the user and the spot. This is one of the ways Leap is inferior to the likes of Dragon Flight and Teleport, which are free from such restrictions.

Leap has a radius in which the knockback-effect is caused. It has a base of 2.6 (actually 2.64) yards, and gains 0.66 yards per level. For Example, a level 10 Leap has a knockback radius of ( 1.98 + ( 10 * 0.66) ) = roughly 8.5 yards. High levels of Leap can cause knockback to almost an entire screen of monsters, just like a Nef rune would do to a single monster.

Bugs[]

Tome This page contains obsolete content
This article contains information that is no longer relevant to gameplay.

Up until version 1.12, the Barbarian's Leap and Leap Attack were affected by a bug which was resolved in Patch 1.13c. If the Barbarian was attacked while using Leap or Leap Attack, the skill would effectively be disabled for the remainder of that game session. The only known way to restore the ability was to restart the game.
