- Lassal(src)
Lassal the Flame-spun is a demon, and a member of the Wrathborne.
Biography[]
The Flame-spun yearns to walk through a world reduced to lifeless rubble by his own hand, and indulge in the lingering terror of its incineration. Lassal was born of the primal fear of extinction, and is so eager and enthusiastic to witness it that he may become as much of a danger to the other Wrathborne as he is to their victims.[1]
Wrathborne Invasion[]
In a vision of the future granted by the Einfrinn Tree, Lassal invaded Westmarch alongside the Wrathborne. Directed by Izilech the Mishappen, he set the city ablaze, and slaughtered anyone in his way. At the vision's end, he defeated the Shard-seeker who were having the vision.[2]
The Shard-seeker later used the Einfrinn Tree to fight Lassal in his lair.[3] After his defeat, Lassal's hand was severed and used by the Helliquary.[4]
Eve of Unmaking[]
C.1273, Lassal had reformed in Hell. He—along with two other demons led a vanguard force to invade the Lidwinter Woods.[5]
In-game[]
Lassal appears in Diablo Immortal. He is a boss in the "Opening the Helliquary" quest, and later appears as a boss in the game's Helliquary system, where he is fought in the Scorched Hellscape. He has the following attacks:
Phase 1[]
- Lassal the Flame-spun(src)
- Melee Swipes: Lassal attacks with several claw swipes, ending with a dual swipes that cause slight knockback.
- Leap: Lassal leaps to the player's location 8 times; each time landing with a hammerfist that causes knockback depending on the distance the player is from the center of the AoE.
- The actual AoE is much larger than the warning circle.
- Summon Minions: Lassal roars, summoning 7 Demon Warriors and 4 Slagspitters in the process. The minions persist till they are killed, though no more minion will be summoned until all of the previous set are killed.
- The Slagspitters spit 4 balls of magma at a time that spread out in a cone.
- Boulder: Lassal throws a boulder at the player with his right hand.
- Slam: Lassal raises his hands up, and after a short delay slams them down in a hammerfist. This causes fiery rifts to erupt in lines that spread out in a cone.
- The flames burn the player.
- Lassal has extra attacks; a roar, an uppercut and a downward punch that deal negligible damage.
Phase 2[]
- Lassal the Flame-spun(src)
Lassal leaps to the center of the arena and changes to his true form.
- Melee Swipes: Each swipe release a small arc of force, and the dual swipes a ranged piercing wave of fire that burns.
- Eruption: Lassal roars, and a warning circle appears beneath the player. The circle follows the player while it charges, and becomes stationary when fully charged. After a short delay, lava erupts from the circle. The eruption pulls the player to the center of the circle, and causes Burn.
- The AoE of the pull is slightly larger than the circle.
- This move is the useless roar animation from the first phase.
- Boulder: The boulder is now a ball of magma.
- Leap: Leap now burns.
- Crumble: Lassal roars and summons multiple boulders from difference ends of the arena. The boulders crash at the player's location before landing a short distance from each other.
- This skill is repeated twice.
- Devastation: Lassal charges his right hand as he raises it up, then punches the ground. This causes an explosion and a very large knockback. This attack can only be evaded by hiding behind the boulders from Crumble, though they are destroyed by the explosion.
- This move is the useless uppercut and downward punch animation from the first phase.
- This move was later named Fleme-spun Eruption.
- Slam: This move is repeated twice, with Lassal adjusting to the player's direction before each slam. After the second slam, Lassal roars, causing the rifts created by the previous attacks to erupt again.
- Minions: Same as phase 1.
Upon defeat, he drops the Flame-twisted Claw. Defeating Lassal is required to unlocking Hell I difficulty.
