Kor Valar (Quest)

Kor Valar is an Act I campaign quest in Diablo IV. It follows on directly from Light's Guidance, and is the second part of the "Pilgrimage" chapter. It leads directly into Pilgrimage.

Objectives

1. Speak with Reverend Mother Prava at Kor Valar I must go to Kor Valar and speak with Reverend Mother Prava. Hopefully she will grant me the blessing necessary to travel beyond the Black Lake and pursue Lilith.
2. Travel to Kor Valar
3. Find Reverend Mother Prava
4. Speak with Vigo
5. Speak with Reverend Mother Prava Vigo accompanies me as I approach Reverend Mother Prava to seek the blessing that will allow me to pursue Lilith across the Black Lake.

Transcript

• Knight: State your business!

• Class: Reverend Mother Prava expects me.

• Vigo: You were good soldiers. Worked hard, fought hard. Drank hard too.

• Vigo: Brothers...sisters...I hope you find peace in these flames.

• Class: Vigo? What are you doing here?

• Vigo: So you lived! I came clean to Prava about taking that woman's bribe. Eesh, it's looking bad.

• Vigo: My ass is on the line. Might not have a job when she's done with me.

• Vigo: Hey, you're here for her, right? Let's go together. Maybe she'll go easy on me if you're there.

• Knight Penitent Monk: Not many could bear your sins.

• Knight Penitent Guardsman: Brave of you to come back.

• Vigo: She's expecting us.

• Knight Penitent Captain: Vigo. Good luck.

• Reverend Mother Prava: Have the new Watch Commander replace the forces we lost at the mine.

• Reverend Mother Prava: So you've returned! Vigo here tells me you were braver than he.

• Class: I need a divine blessing to chase Lilith.

• Reverend Mother Prava: First, you will be made worthy of a blessing. A holy war can't be won with faithless troops.

• Reverend Mother Prava: Make no mistake, this war is holy. Lilith has brought the Eternal Conflict to Sanctuary. And Inarius will deliver us, as writ in prophecy.

• Reverend Mother Prava: Until then, we have our parts to play. Make a pilgrimage to the Alabaster Monastery. Cleanse your spirit. Then we may discuss a blessing.

• Vigo: May as well make myself useful. Come by the ruins south of here.

At the start of the quest, the player may talk with Iosef for further information:

• Class: What do you know of Reverend Mother Prava?

• Iosef: As a girl, she was sick. Plagued by constant seizures. But Inarius healed her. When I met her, I was a sinner. But her faith showed me what I could be. There's no one better fit to lead us.

• Class: What is Kor Valar?

• Iosef: One of our defenses against the Prime Evils. We fight Terror with faith, Hatred with compassion. We've built the mighty towers of Kor Valar to withstand Destruction.

• Class: Inarius foretold this?

• Iosef: He was given a prophecy. "Light piercing Hatred's heart," it said. He knew what it meant. That he was fated to kill Lilith. And when he does, he will be redeemed, and he will ascend to the Heavens once more.

At Kor Valar:

• Class: Is that armor?

• Knight Penitent Admonisher: This is no mere "armor!" This is a holy vessel of the highest craftsmanship. It may uplift the repentant sinner to the Light directly. Can "armor" do that?

• Class: It looks too large to move.

• Knight Penitent Admonisher: Faith, rather than flesh, moves the suit. Though, how is only known to a privilaged few. The practice has long been abandoned. Something big is coming. Holy war. Mark my words. She wouldn't have asked me to prepare a relic like this otherwise.
