"One of our defenses against the Prime Evils. We fight Terror with faith, Hatred with compassion. We've built the mighty towers of Kor Valar to withstand Destruction."
- The Wanderer and Iosef(src)
Kor Valar is a Cathedral of Light fortress.
Lore[]
Kor Valar was built upon the Seat of the Heavens. Its spires and buttresses are graced with a dizzying majesty, its granduer echoing that of the High Heavens. Lorath Nahr commented that this was unsurprising, as Kor Valar was once the place of residence for Inarius.[1] Anica's Claim provided materials for the fortress.[2]
The fortress has a single entrance, a keep (or similar structure)[3] and is garrisoned by the Knights Penitent. Even after Inarius's death, the knights continued to march and train within the fortress's walls.[1]
In-game[]
Kor Valar is a Fractured Peaks zone in Diablo IV. It is effectively its own region, though geographically speaking, can be considered part of the Seat of the Heavens region. To gain entrance to the fortress, one must embark on the quest "Kor Valar," at which point the gate will open to the player. The interior of the fortress is mostly bereft of NPCs bar those with campaign relevance.
NPCs[]
- Reverend Mother Prava (temporary)
- Sister Vera (side quest only)
- Vigo (temporary)
Points of Interest[]
- Spiked Helmet: The helmet's spikes recede deep within the helmet, as part of a metal slab that protrudes downward. The metal tendrils stretch to the helmet's base and latch onto a studded leather cap, denying any room for a head.
- This appears by the Penitent Armor during the primary questline. The helmet disappears later on.
- War Table: A map of Estuar, with a throng of red arrows and markers all pointing toward the fabled city of Caldeum.
