Kion's Ordeal is a gameplay system in Diablo Immortal. It is the Immortals counterpart to the Shadows' Path of Blood, although the rewards are similar to that of Shadow War.
Gameplay[]
Exclusive to Immortals players,[1] Kion's Ordeal is a raid for up to 48 players where unique rewards can be obtained.[2] Five difficulty levels are available, the number of raids available each day equals the difficulty number.[3] The players in the raid have 30 minutes to defeat four bosses; as each boss dies, the others get stronger.[2] The possible bosses are Moloch, Voracity, Balazos, Coldsnap, Siegebreaker and Fallen Matriarch. No more than 12 players may fight a given boss at a time, but players may fight multiple bosses over the course of the raid.
Completing the Ordeal bestows the Immortals powerful loot[4] including 15 Aspirant's Keys and a faction-wide buff called "Blessing of Daedessa," which increases rewards for Elder Rift runs for every non-Shadows player on the server, and allows them to obtain Blessed Chests. Riches and equipment from Elder Rift runs those players complete contribute to an Immortals vault, which gets handed out to Immortals at the end of the week.[2] If not refreshed successfully before it expires, the Blessing of Daedessa instead is bestowed upon the Shadows.[4]
At the end of the event, the Builder's Gifts (Legendary Items) are distributed in a lottery system, over 4 rounds. The first round offers items for the 4 primary armor slots while the second offers 2 main hand and 2 off hand slot items; the third and fourth rounds offer one item for each of the 6 types of slot. Each item is represented by a floating model of the corresponding equipment slot surrounded by a large circle. Players must stand in the circle for a chance to get the item. After a 60-second countdown, a random number is rolled for every player, and the player with the highest number in each circle gets a randomly-generated item for their class. A single player can receive multiple gifts. A player who doesn't stand in any of the circles will not receive any gift in that round.
Trivia[]
- The event is presumably named after Kion.
History[]
Originally Essentia was required to open Kion's Ordeal. This requirement was dropped in the September 21, 2023, update; now the number of ordeals that can be opened each day is tied solely to the Immortals' Dominance level.[5]
